Quick formula for Scale finishes:

1) LOTS of sanding initially.

2) .5 oz f/g with System 3 Clear Coat epoxy resin: Merton Fiberglass--1-800-333-0314. Squeegee out the resin with old credit card. Allow to cure and do second coat. Want to fill F/G only! Keep LIGHT !

3) Wash down with warm soap and water

4) Wet sand with 100 followed by 220. Smooth, smooth, smooth is the name of the game.

5) Lightly sand with 320 wet.

6) Prime with Plasticoat white primer (available at Advanced Auto and probably some others)

7) Sand out, re prime, sand out and LIGHTLY prime for last time.

8) Do panel limes with chart pack tape. Hit all tape lines with 3 coats acrylic gray in air brush. (Acrylic gray is available at Ben Franklin.  It's cheap)

9) Remove tape and clean edges with 600 LIGHTLY.

10) Gray coat (gray primer is OK) to pick up any imperfections. Sand most away with 220 wet.

11) Do rivets (18 ga hypodermic w/10 cc syringe and "Weld Bond" white glue.  Glue available at Ace Hardware).

12) Do hatches with HVAC aluminum tape and burnish.

13) Hit all leading edges with Luster coat aluminum paint (for future weathering).

14) Take your color chips to Home Depot and get colors mixed with Behr Exterior Acrylic Latex.

15) Do the color coat. Should only take one coat.

16) Weather. Will do a section on weathering later.

17) Overspray with Top Flight clear Luster coat to fuel proof and you're good to go.
